ATTO Technology FCBR-6500-DPS Overview

 

The Dual Power Supply FibreBridge 6500 2-Port FC to SAS/SATA Controller from ATTO Technology is a performance tuned, manageable protocol translator which allows FC initiators to communicate with SAS/SATA target devices. The FiberBridge 6500 allows your SAS/SATA disk storage to integrate into a Fiber Channel SAN. This provides the benefit of increased availability and scalability, while allowing the use of direct attached storage on a shared Fiber Channel network.

The FiberBridge 6500 allows you to connect SAS or SATA drive technology to your existing 2/4/8 Gb Fiber Channel SAN. By eliminating the fiber components in a drive chassis, power consumption is reduced along with costly fiber components such as SFPs and the quantity of switch ports required by storage.

The architecture provides optimal performance by leveraging the hardware technology combined with ATTO's intelligent bridging architecture and provides industry standard performance with value added features.
More than a Bridge
The FibreBridge enables users to manage storage infrastructures with features not found in direct connect technologies. The read ahead and write cache algorithms in the FibreBridge give users optimal performance. Its error processing enables the FibreBridge to manage disk and communication errors between targets and initiators. Email notification of errors and persistent error and trace logs assist troubleshooting in the field to minimize downtime.
User-Friendly Management Tools
ExpressNAV System Manager is a remote management user interface for configuration, monitoring, and management of ATTO Bridge products. The tuning features include performance monitoring, diagnostic, troubleshooting capabilities, and phone home email notification. Several management interfaces are available including GUI, CLI, Telnet, SNMP, and FTP. Also manage your storage infrastructure with streamline storage management.
SAS/SATA Storage on the SAN
The storage controller provides low cost per drive for Fibre Channel connectivity to SAS/SATA HDD, SSD based storage and SAS tape devices. Adding Fibre Channel connectivity to your SAS/SATA devices provides storage benefits of a SAN that a SAS/SATA storage cannot natively provide. ATTO provides regular firmware updates and maintenance programs to keep the FibreBridge up to date with advances in technology.

Hardware configuration options allow for unique board ID to define initialization and characteristics of the OEM product
